Dear Friends:
The full body meeting of Nepal America Journalists’ Association was held in Virginia on June 13, (Sunday) 2010. The meeting was participated in (in) person and on telephone conference call. The meeting has made the following decisions:
1. The meeting decided to accept the resignation tendered by Eastern Region Vice President Bijaya Paudel. NEAJA members were not pleased with the manner Mr. Poudel had resigned without first informing and explaining the reason to the NEAJA executive committee. Poudel had resigned over the issue of holding an interaction program with Nepal’s former Nepal Army chief of staff Rukmangad Katwal. The vacant position will be filled after the decision is reached overwhelmingly in the near future.
2. The meeting has decided to nominate immediate past NEAJA president Girish Pokhrel (as ex-officio advisor as inscribed in NEAJA statute) Tara Baral, Yogesh Upadhyaya and Pratap Adhikari to the honorary positions of NEAJA advisors.
3. The meeting also decided to visit International Center for Journalists (ICJ) headquarters in Washington DC to hold official meeting with ICJ program director Robert Tinsley to hold discussions on the matters of bilateral interests, especially to seek support for journalist exchange program on behalf of NEAJA on the third week of June, 2010.
4. The meeting extended the vote of thanks to all the NEAJA members for supporting Rabin Thapaliya who had to lose his leg in an unfortunate accident. The meeting also decided to request the remaining NEAJA members to kindly support him by sending the checks to support Mr. Thapaliya in the following address:

5. The meeting also extended special thanks to Mr. Amit Shah for arranging and facilitating the conference call. Please be also informed that NEAJA’s account has been transferred to incumbent NEAJA executive committee. Former NEAJA treasurer Gunaraj Luintel handed over the account to NEAJA president Nagendra Paudel last Friday . It will be handed over to incumbent treasurer Sahadev Poudel in the near future.
